Pictured above is our pooch, Cannon.

I am so very excited to share that KZM Facial Care Boutique has been approved by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) as an officially Cruelty Free company.

The CCIC has the internationally recognized Leaping Bunny logo. Making up the CCIC are the American Anti-Vivisection Society, the Doris Day Animal League, The Humane Society of the United States, Beauty Without Cruelty, and the New England Anti-Vivisection Society. International partners include the Animal Alliance of Canada and the European Coalition to End Animal Experimentation.

Companies who are already on this list of approved companies include Burt's Bees, Juice Beauty, Kiss My Face, and Method Products, to name a few.

To be accepted into the program, strict guidelines must be followed to ensure ALL stages of product development are cruelty free. For example, all suppliers sent information that the ingredients supplied to me are not tested on animals.

From the CCIC's site regarding the Leaping Bunny standard:

"The Standard is short for the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals, a voluntary pledge that cosmetic, personal care, and/or household product companies make to clear animal testing from all stages of product development. The company's ingredient suppliers make the same pledge and the result is a product guaranteed to be 100 percent free of new animal testing. All Leaping Bunny companies must be open to independent audits, and commitments are renewed on an annual basis."

I just received my notification today that I have been approved! The administrator of CCIC, Vicki Katrinak, let me know this afternoon that my company's name will be listed on site soon.

Congratulations Karley! How very exciting!

Cannon is SO adorable! He looks pretty small, is that an old photo?

Thanks ladies!

Cannon DOES look small in this pic, doesn't he? The pic is older, but he was full grown when we adopted him--nearly 95 pounds of him! In this picture, he was all curled up because the boys were near him and he didn't want to invade their space. I need to post a pic of him standing up...He can stand on his legs and pull dishes out of the sink, for example :(

That is too funny!

I guess the best thing to do is to hand him a dish towel and teach him to dry dinner dishes! :)
